Irons, Putters, and Wedges
Golf clubs are an integral part of any golf game. A good golf club can make the difference between a birdie and a bogey. There are several things you need to know before you pick the perfect golf club.
Golf clubs come in three categories: woods, irons, and putters. Woods are used to drive the ball long distances. You can use a wood to tee off, or hit the ball far from the fairway. Irons are clubs that have a flat angled face and a shorter shaft than woods. Irons are designed to approach the green, or get out of the rough. Putters are used to roll the ball on the green toward the cup.
Before you can pick the clubs that suite you, it is important to keep a few things in mind: the length of the shaft, as well as the flex. The length is important to allow the club to feel comfortable to you when you swing. Length also allows you to be able to hit the ball square. When you hit the ball square, you can drive the ball farther. The flex is very important to your swing. Without the right flex, you could hit the ball in the trees every time.
